African American Grandmother Artifact Trunk

Imagine a trunk your grandmother might have tucked away somewhere, where they may have collected objects and stories over the years that one day might be passed on to you and your descendants. 

History Colorado’s Grandmother Artifact Trunks illustrate everyday life from the turn of the 20th century to the present day. This two-week rental of the African American Grandmother Artifact Trunk will provide you with objects, lesson plans, biographies, and additional resources.

Details

• Perfect for students in Grades 3–5
• Rental Period: two weeks
• Cost: $30 per trunk when picked up and dropped off at the History Colorado Center
  • You can pick up and drop off your Artifact Trunk any time during the rental, including over the weekend
• If you live more than 50 miles outside of the Denver Metro Area, this trunk can be shipped to you for an additional $50 per trunk
  • Return shipping instructions will be provided
• Each two-week Rental Period starts and ends on a Friday
  • Artifact Trunks are shipped out on the first Friday of the Rental Period, meaning they usually arrive by the first Monday of the Rental Period
    
  • Artifact Trunks must be shipped back by 8:00am on the final Friday of the Rental Period
    
  • All dates are subject to change based on shipping issues outside of History Colorado's control 
    
• Late return and replacement fees may apply
